Girl’s body found in gunny bag

The body of a girl, estimated to be between 20 to 22 years of age, was found in a gunny bag ditched in a drain. The corpse was recovered on Tuesday morning near Pakland Cement Factory within the jurisdictions of Steel Town police station.

According to Edhi sources, they were notified of an abandoned body, and they brought it to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre along with the police. Doctors present said that the corpse was at least a week old and badly mutilated.

Steel Town police told The News that there were two reports of missing girls in Korangi, one from the Korangi Industrial Area, and the other from the Zaman Town PS.

Another girl reportedly went missing from Chakra Goth area in Zaman Town police jurisdiction. However, after post-mortem results which claimed that a four to five month old baby was found in the girl’s uterus, the family from Chakra Goth said that although their daughter Neelum Naz was married, she was not pregnant. In fact her husband had gone missing along with her. However, SI Niaz added that the girl’s neck was swollen and she was badly hurt and it seemed as if the apparent cause of death seemed to be strangulation.
